PAIR OF GEORGE II CAST BRASS COLUMNAR CANDLESTICKS

An elegant and simple pair of Georgian brass candlesticks,
each having an urn form nozzle with continuous square bobeche
above a large square knop smaller round knop heading the long slender column,
the square base with well defined round dished center
Note :
Square based candlesticks with round dished centers are quite often of fine quality.
Some were even silvered
Two similar pairs are illustrated p. 182, A, B and C, "The Brass Book", Schiffer,
one c1730, and one c1760.
The underneath of the earlier pair is also illustrated and identical to this example.
Condition : Excellent; a few tiny tarnish resistant spots to the bases
Height : 8-3/4", The Base 4-3/8" Square
