Should you like to try your hand at making your own sauce (for really delicious ribs), here is a
1956 RECIPE FOR A HOT SWEET BASTING SAUCE : It's fantastic and what we used in the "old days"...
1 cup catsup 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce 2-3 dashes Tabasco Sauce 1 cup water 3/4 cup vinegar 1 tablespoon sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon celery seed Combine all ingredients. Heat to boiling. Simmer 30 minutes. Baste while cooking, especially the last 30 minutes, turning frequently. Makes enough sauce for basting 4 pounds ribs.
