Good George I Carved Gesso & Giltwood Looking Glass

England, c1720

 

 

With original gilt and mirror plate, the pierced broken arch pediment composed of leaves and c-scrolls centering a plume-crested shield with further plumes above a rectangular canted molded surround housing the Vauxhall plate; the shaped base with further carved leaves

   

Condition : Excellent; the gilt and very thin plate original and in excellent condition;

very minor losses and rubbing to the gilt, as expected; wonderful soft color;

back original and not off (not photographed)
