The double wavy crestrail over a vasiform splat
and shaped slip seat covered in early needlework (the needlework associated),
raised on shell headed cabriole legs to the front,
ending in well carved ball and claw feet, the back legs raked
Chairs of similar design are documented in both the Metropolitan Museum, NYC,
and the collections of Percival D. Griffiths (London), and Desmond Fitzgerald, Glen Castle, Ireland.
Condition : Excellent with expected small nicks and splits to the veneer; one repair to splat shoe;
needlework and webbing worn
