George II Cast Silver Rococo Taperstick, John Cafe

 

In the rococo form and after the candlestick of the same design,
having square shaped base decorated with shells at the angles, surmounted by
a knopped stem, one with shell casting and a spool socket;
crested to the base with an arm in armour, holding a scimitar;
fully and crisply marked to the underside

 

 

Condition : Excellent; minor wear to shell upper surface;

the scimitar and hand on crest rubbed from polishing;

(the images oversized for inspection)

 

4.75" High / 5.4 oz.
