GEORGE III SILVER NUTMEG GRATER

Samuel Pemberton, Birmingham, 1800

 

 

 

The acorn shaped grater finely bright cut on the body with a foliate scroll over very fine vertically incised lines and above

two dotted lines, the lid with a line of zigzag and dots between fine short vertical lines, the rim edge with quite fine line

gadrooning, the lid top bright cut with crossing leaves and lines; the interior with a steel grater;

the lid interior marked SP in an oval, Birmingham, c (1800) and the regent’s profile

 

Condition : Normal wear to the grater; minor dent to the lid edge; 

otherwise excellent with good detail to the decoration

 

1.5” Long / .3 oz total weight
