England c. 1780

Of very fine and graceful form, the arched back flanked by over-scrolling curved arms over a

slightly bowed seat with "tacked" down and feather cushion, supported by eight legs, the front

legs tapered and reeded, the back legs molded and raked, all joined by cross stretchers, the legs

terminating in brass casters (the front legs also with brass caps)

Condition: Excellent; now newly covered in linen and ready for slipcover or upholstering;

repaired crack to one rear leg, the interior structure original and not altered

Note the curve to the back that dips below the arm crest.  Some higher sofa backs have been reshaped to

achieve this particular graceful form.  This back shape is original to the sofa.
