GEORGE III CANED MAHOGANY CRADLE

England, c1800-1820

 

 

The rectangular portable basket with caned sides and oval hood supported by turned supports and stretchers,

the feet ending in brass caps and casters; cradle detachable from hardware;

excellent finish and patination; original hardware and finish, old replaced caning

 

Condition : Very good to excellent; the cradle with good caning (with no discernible rips or tears)

and normal scratching and rubbing to the mahogany frame; modern bedding includled
