EARLY GEORGE III DIMINUTIVE MAHOGANY CHEST OF DRAWERS

England, c1760

 

 

 The diminutive chest of drawers of quite well figured woods, having a molded rectangular top above two short

and four long graduated drawers raised on shaped bracket feet,

retaining the original faded well patinated finish, as well as the original rocaille brasses and key;

 a quite fine small chest with much gusto

 

Condition : Excellent, with a minor repair to the top right thumb molding, and a chip to the base of the left front foot cover;

shrinkage separation to the top thumb molding at the left front; repair to top right molding;

nicks, scratches and minor shrinkage appropriate to age and usage
