CAUGHLEY BLUE & WHITE BUTTER BOAT - Pleasure Boat

The moulded geranium leaf shaped dish with an angular twig handle and raised on three clover leaf feet,

 printed  in underglaze blue with the Pleasure Boat pattern within a spearhead and cell diaper band

 

Ref:  Godden, Geoffrey, Caughley and Worcester Porcelain 1775-1800, Herbert Jenkins, 1969, Pl. 140,

for a similar butter dish and accompanying plaster mould from the author's collection (see illustration below):

 

Condition: Excellent; some kiln spit
