"Santa Baby" was written in 1953 by Philip Springer and Joan Javits, niece to Senator Jacob Javits.
It was intended as a humorous Christmas list of extravagant gifts,
addressed to Santa Claus by a woman who wished sables, yachts and gifts from Tiffany's.
It was originally recorded by Eartha Kitt in 1953, and remained one of Eartha's favorite songs.
It has been performed and recorded by countless others - even today, 62 years later.
However, I am not certain anyone could sing it quite like Eartha.
And we apologize for the 'paraphrase' - we just could not help ourselves!
