UNASCRIBED PROVINCIAL SILVER MARROW SCOOP

England, Mid-18th Century

Marked thrice with an hour glass shape and cross (or dagger)

 

 

Of heavy gauge silver and usual double ended form with drop heel, the large bowl engraved with two crests :

 

“A demi-dragon with wings addorsed holding between the claws a battle-ax erect” (not traced),

 Over “a goat passant”
