GOOD TANG DYNASTY POTTERY CAMEL

China, 618 to 906 AD

    

    

Standing four square on a rectangular plinth, its head turned slightly to the left with traces of the original black and white paint,

with remains of red and yellow, over a terracotta body; tasseled saddle blanket carved and molded from the pottery,

one side with a painted feather design.

 

Condition: restorations appropriate to age
