SCARCE GEORGE I WALNUT & WALNUT VENEERED OVAL STOOL

England, c1720

 

 

Somewhat rare in form, the oval seatrail veneered with straight-grained walnut above cabriole legs ending in pad feet, antique needlework (possibly period) upholstery to the drop-in seat;

early surface with wonderful patination

 

Note : Most George I stools are rectangular in shape.

Condition : Excellent; nicks and scratches appropriate to age and usage; old if not original seat frame
