A well-figured walnut fronted oak chest, the rectangular top above two short and three long graduated fruitwood
crossbanded drawers, d-form moldings, square-pegged oak top and paneled sides, raised on bracket feet;
construction still without dustboards; 3-part drawer construction form used from the late 17th century until c1725,
having softwood walnut-veneered fronts, the drawer bottoms visible from the side (see below); 2 lower keyhole
escutcheons possibly original; well matched replacement pulls attached by cotter pins; probably provincial
Condition: Excellent, with rich color and patination; replaced feet; restored top; several minor expected repairs
to crossbanding and case
