Each round plate painted in vibrant blues and having a central barbed roundel with a dancing boy
on a veranda before a large vase of flowers, within a cavetto and rim with alternating Buddhist emblems and lotus roundels,
all within a diapered border, the rim verso with three floral sprigs
Note :
Legend indicated that the dancing boy motif, often with his hand hidden within his long sleeves,
is connected, from ancient times, with New Years Eve celebrations and rituals.
This motif was also copied by early 18th century British porcelain manufactories.
Condition : One with an apparent restored rim chip verso (small stroke of white at rim verso about 2:00, right example);
each with a small rim glaze skip verso
