RARE AND FINE PAIR OF NORTHERN EUROPEAN TRIANGULAR
FOLD- OVER GAMES TABLES, C1740

In the early rococo manner, of triangular fold-over form in fruitwood veneers on oak secondary woods, the mahogany inlaid tops opening
to silk-covered interiors, the 3 sides each having a scalloped frieze with mahogany banding, the back frieze blocked and with rococo carving,
resting on 4 cabriole legs with acanthus-carved knees, each centering a "C", and terminating in hoofed feet with original dew claws;
the back center leg extending as table support
Condition: excellent, in old and possibly original finish with minor veneer repairs; each top with an identical veneer shrinkage crack;
covering of Italian silk
Note: It is quite rare to find an existing pair of games tables, especially from the first half of the 18th century.
The condition is also exceptional.
