RARE ANGLO-DUTCH MAHOGANY & MARQUETRY CHILD'S SIDE CHAIR

The Netherlands, c1810-1820

In the English Regency manner, the tablet back with stiles curving to a shaped trapezoidal slip seat,

raised on outcurving saber legs, the whole finely inlaid with floral marquetry and stringing

Condition: excellent, with some small pieces of missing veneer on one side

Note: The craftsmanship required to make a child's chair exceeds that of a full scale chair

Apparently the proportions are very easily distorted. Good sophisticated ones are quite rare. This is a very fine example.
