The large deep charger with a barbed edge, painted in a deep vivid blue, the center with a with auspicious
symbols in a bracketed medallion surrounded by ruyi head panels of sunflowers and further auspicious symbols
(“most of them concerned with longevity, as if to ward off the dangers of wars and famines which swept over China
at the time” (Rinaldi, p100), these panels divided by narrow panels of diaper motifs; verso with large roundel panels with
hastily drawn lingzhi, alternating with narrow panels with dagger-like design; chatter marks and sand adhesions verso
