Of heavy timbers and fine form, the platform base still in the George I manner (carry over from the platform bases of the 17th century); the heavy dished top raised over a baluster standard, raised on a tripod base issuing from a single platform, the cabriole legs ending in pad feet See : British Antique Furniture, Andrews, “Tables – Tripods to 1770”, Fig. 890
Condition : Excellent with no breaks, repairs or alterations observed; good expected staining to the dished top, which has good depth of timber; original iron spider verso
Note : These small kettle stands are difficult to find in this condition. They also serve as wine stands and chairside tables, where a small incidental table that takes up no space is needed
