The box of long rectangular form with rounded ends, the copper lids with engraved with scenes of ladies and gentlemen on a terrace,
one bringing a candle, between panels of scrolling foliage, and inscribed with apparent spiritual references, reading (to the best of our ability):
Mansucht naih Frommen Lueten, wo sind sie? (One is seeking pious people. Where are they?)
and
Und hoft auf besser zieten, W? kamt die?" (And hoping for better times. When is it coming?)
One side engraved with scrolling foliage, the other appearing as ferns
Condition: Excellent; heavy gauge, inscription slightly rubbed in places
