GEORGE II SILVER HASH SPOON

William Soame, London, 1735-6

The large heavy gauge silver spoon in the Hanoverian pattern with upturned tip and egg-shaped bowl with double drop heel,

good upper ridge to the shaft, the terminal engraved with the initials GFA

Condition : Excellent, with several minor dings to bowl from normal wear and usage; good patination;

maker's mark struck to one side but legible;

I would pre-suppose an initial removal, but no other impressions or indentation from a removal evident

Note : William Soame is among my preferred makers for Hanoverian spoons. The shapes of his bowls

and feel of the silver is always a pleasure to use.

14.25” Long / 5.7 oz.
