Lid Interior Caster Interior

Of heavy gauge, the body with an early baluster shape with reeded girdle on a round
pedestal foot, having a pierced and engraved domed bun-shaped cover, engraved with the
crest of a reindeer attired, affronte, and out of a ducal coronet
Condition: lid lower flange reattached, all except 1/2"; otherwise excellent; *maker's mark over the centering ring and
twice stuck (improper first striking), or overstuck (one maker making for another maker); as there were a limited
number of caster makers at that time, it is possibly by a prolific caster maker of the era, as Samuel Wood;
excellent weight and quality; larger images of the mark available upon request
