Of oval form with cylindrical reeded cap top, each with contemporary script monogram “E” , the bottoms engraved WARNE;
crisp marks verso, the lids marked with a crisp lion passant and date mark, rubbed but legible maker’s mark
Condition: Very good; each with a small discrete silver solder rejoin of the top to body, and a few minor body dents
Note: pairs of early tea caddies (correctly termed canisters) are quite rare, and can price well into 5 figures.
The only comparable pair found was by Peter and Anne Bateman at 7475 GBP (about 14,000.00 USD)
