Of circular bombe form raised on a flaring foot, chased and embossed in the rococo manner with
wrythen flutes alternating with floral sprays, the lid with a button finial; originally the sugar to a matching
3-part tea caddy set; marked on the verso and the lid
Condition: Excellent; minor dents to footrim; good marks (Grimwade #2492)
Note: Coley registered his mark in 1761. His son, Simeon Coley II registered his mark in 1789.
His daughter, Hannah, married Thomas Northcote, both also leading silversmiths.
