Of usual X-form with central round burner, the detachable lid wtih beaded edges, raised on 4 ovoid
beaded feet, surmounted by C-scroll legs and pierced slides below spade-form beaded-edge supports;
of good heavy weight with stable slides
Condition: Excellent, the only bleed being on the foot versos
Note: Dish crosses were made primarily during the mid through late 18th century, being used
for placement of hot dishes on sideboards. They have sliding supports to fit a varying
array of shapes and sizes, making them suitable for a number of contemporary usages -
including silver, ceramics, or even decorative objects that one might wish to elevate on a table.
