GEORGE III MAHOGANY CANDLESTAND

The small circular dished top surmounting a slender columnar urn and ring turned standard raised
on arched cabriole tripod legs terminating in pad feet
Condition: Good refinish with excellent color; early 19th century repair to leg, and a period extension to standard, most likely to
raise candlestand height. (As it was necessary to have the light of the candle as close possible to the
object to be read, it is likely that the extension served such a purpose). The extension is probably of
American origin, probably Pennsylvania.
