Teapot Lid

 

Of globular form with loop handle, painted in overglaze enamels and black with a “Chinese Family” pattern,

depicting a boy at a table with two women, one with a butterfly net, a boy with butterflies, and a dog; the lid original,

painted with the boy at the table, the finial a partially open blossom; collector’s number verso

 

Condition: The spout with very small chip to the end and old silver tip mount; otherwise excellent
