Of circular reticulated form (the round form rarely found in blue and white), a fine pair of blue and white printed
and painted baskets in the Pine Cone pattern, the center with an open peony between two pinecones
and a pomegranate, the border painted with floral and foliate sprays, the exterior with applied flowerheads;
verso with a hatched underglaze blue crescent mark
Note: An identical pair of "Dr Wall" Worcester baskets is in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Condition: Overall excellent; one lacking an exterior flower petal (pre-firing and overglazed)
and foot firing flaw; the other with a single tight hairline to the reticulated outer edge
