FINE PAIR OF GEORGE III CUT & ENGRAVED TAPERING DECANTERS

England, c1780

 

 

 

Each decanter of slender tapering form, the folded lip above a honeycomb-cut neck, the body

with floral and swag engraving above berry clusters, narrow upright flutes at the base,

the ovoid stoppers with facetted flat surfaces and edges; polished pontils

 

Condition : Excellent; one with a nick on a stopper point, the other with a nick to the edge of the base

and a shallow flake to the stopper extension

 

10.25" High x 3.25" Diameter (Base)  /  The Stoppers 3-1/8” High
