The large shaped clip of heavy gauge silver, engraved with
the seal and motto of the Mayor of Westbury (Wiltshire) :
a shield quarterly or and azure a cross quartered patonce fleury
surrounded a circular border reading (in Lombardic) :
SIGILLUM MAIORIS ET BURGEN DE WESTBURIE
the open end with shaped and with suspensory ring,
the opposite end, straight and sprung,
the underside plain;
crisp marks to the upper and lower surfaces

The seal presented to the borough in 1597.
