Each well painted with the ducks-in-a-pond motif, showing three ducks (or cormorants) amidst lotus
and other foliage within a deep well, the shaped rims with diapering reserved with
panels of flowerheads, the reverse with floral sprays.
Note: Mandarin ducks are symbolic of marital happiness and faithfulness, as they mate for life.
A pair of ducks is the marriage symbol and emblematic of felicity.
Condition: both with typical very small rim frits appropriate to the period, one dish with glaze
inconsistency in the center base by flying bird, typical small scattered iron spots, no cracks or repairs
