BOW PORCELAIN MOLDED OVAL DISH

England, c1760

 

 

 

The lobed oval feather-edged dish with basket-molded surfaces

interspersed with 4 diamond-filled quatrefoils of molded flowers,

the central reserve painted in blue with flowers within a roundel surrounded by

diamonds of further floral sprays alternating with butterflies,

the verso with 4 curvilinear fern-like sprays,

the glaze pooling blue in some crevices; unmarked 

 

Condition: Very good: slight surface wear and a few tiny rim frits
