MASONIC INTEREST GLASS RUMMER

 Possibly Anglo-Irish, 19th Century

 

 

 

 

          

 

 

Lead glass, of large size, the ovoid bowl with finely engraved Masonic symbols:

      

A Bible with square and compass above a plumb 

A concave sun with face

A moon with seven stars above a trowel

A pair of opposing obelisks

       

raised on a short stem with annular knop above a domed lemon squeezer plinth foot

with polished upper and lower surfaces

 

Note: Precise dating within the century is difficult to ascribe on this glass. 

It is blown, with good striations and some impurities.

 

Condition: Excellent; three small nicks to the lower base corners

 

5 3/8” High, 3” Foot Width
